Three Spartan Combat RTC wrestlers left the Shorty Hitchcock Open at Millersville with undefeated performances.
Jaxon Joy and Ryder Yoshitake both made the finals at 149 pounds and shared the championship. Louie Cerchio won the 165 pound bracket to earn his first college title.
After winning the Michigan State Open a week ago, Joy followed up with victories in all five of his matches. He racked up technical falls in his first four bouts before blanking EIWA finalist Jack Crook of Harvard 5-0 in the semis. He outscored his opponents 76-6 on the day.
Yoshitake started with an 11-1 major, followed by a first period pin. He then earned two consecutive decisions, including over Nick Villani of Rutgers in the semifinals, to make the championship match against teammate Joy.
Cerchio racked up bonus point wins in his first four bouts before a 5-1 win against Luke Gayer of Rutgers in the title match. He started with dominant victories, by 23-2, 19-3, and 9-0, scores.
Gabriel Bouyssou went 5-1 at 141 pounds, with four first-period pins and and a 21-7 major decision, on his way to the fifth place match.
Cash Henderson took sixth place at heavyweight with three wins - all by pin. One of his falls was in just 13 seconds.
Kosta Koufalis competed at 157 pounds, winning two matches, including one by 22-6 technical fall.
