
Vito Arujau earned a World medal for the second straight year, following his 2023 World Championship with a bronze at 61 kg.
Arujau earned victories over Udit of India (4-2) and Tuskaev of Serbia (6-3) in his first two bouts to make the semifinals. In that round, he fell to eventual gold medalist Ono of Japan, sending him to the third place match.
To take bronze, Arujau dominated World Champ and 2020 Olympic gold medalist Zavur Uguev (AIN/Russia), 8-3. Arujau picked up four takedowns in the outstanding match to bring another World medal home to Ithaca.
