
Nate Wade began his varsity career for West Genesee High School as an eighth grader, winning close to 30 matches at 99 pounds. A year later, he captured his first Section 3 championship at the same weight, and came within one victory of making the podium at the state tournament.
As a sophomore, Wade racked up a 38-3 record at 120 pounds, including 20 pins. He moved up to 132 pounds as a junior and the winning continued, as he went 43-4 with his second Section title with two falls and a major. At the NY state championships, he notched sixth place, with three victories.
This spring, Wade earned All-American honors at the NHSCA Nationals, taking fourth at 138 pounds. At the event, Wade garnered five victories, including three by pin.
Wade finished as the all-time wins leader at West Genesee and projects as a 141 or 149 pounder for Spartan Combat RTC.
