Tyler Ferrara went 5-1 at the Mat Town Open 2 on Sunday, to earn fifth place at 133 pounds.
Four of his five victories were by technical fall as he racked up points against Owen Bell of Bucknell (18-1), Ryan Yrairt of West Virginia (17-2), Trey Friedman of Drexel (19-3) and Vinnie D'Alessandro (18-2). He also beat EIWA placer Kyle Waterman of Drexel, 8-1.
Ferrara's only loss was to eventual champion Ryan Miller of Penn, a multi-time NCAA qualifier.
George Oroudjov won three times at 141, including a pin, while Carson Crace recorded a fall at 184. Buzz Bomberger picked up a win at 157.
Also competing for Spartan were: Ernie Perry (125), Carter Tate (141), and Zahir McLean-Felix (174).
